Plainfile CLI

Overview

Plainfile is a sample command-line tool that keeps folders of plain text files in sync, with a --dry-run mode so you can see changes before they happen.

Usage

npm install -g plainfile
plainfile sync ./notes ./backup --dry-run
plainfile sync ./notes ./backup

Design goals

• Predictable — the same inputs always produce the same result.
• Reversible — nothing is deleted without a confirmation or a backup.
• Fast — content hashes are cached between runs.
